In October 2025, I had the honour of being invited to a small gathering at the House of Commons in London. It was arranged by our supporter and local MP, Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

Amongst the guests were Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Secretary General of the Verkhovna Rada Viacheslav Shtuchnyi, and Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK General Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

On behalf of the “Chorley & District Support for Ukraine” group, I pledged that we would continue to support the people of Ukraine for as long as we could.

We know we can’t do anything to influence the military aspects of the war, but we know that if we continue to work hard and everyone keeps doing at least a little bit, together we can make a big difference for the people of Ukraine.
