Providing Vital Support To Ukraine

What We Do
This group was created to try and help raise awareness of the crisis in Ukraine and to help organise and coordinate local efforts to send support from across the Borough of Chorley in Lancashire.
Thanks to an amazing response from the local community, this has since grown into a North West of England effort!
Across Chorley & District multiple educational facilities, community groups and organisations reacted and began to spread awareness and collect donations. In order to sift and sort a lot of local donations, a unit has been loaned by Chorley Council. A large percentage of the District’s aid has come into this unit and it is being palletised ready for sending out to Eastern Europe.
Furthermore, the unit has been able to act as an overspill when the International Aid
Trust warehouse, formerly of Lostock Hall (now Hesketh Bank) has been overwhelmed,
and it has also received collections from Leyland, Penwortham, Wigan, Blackburn,
Bolton, and elsewhere.
Our Location
The main drop off point is the ‘Ukraine Unit’ which can be found off Market Walk in
Chorley town centre.
The makeshift unit can be found underneath the new Reel Cinema, to the side of the
Calico Lounge and the postcode is PR7 1FD.
We are working to quite a specific donation list, but we can accept and distribute most
items. The unit is open every Saturday morning to receive donations and our team are
always on hand to help out if you have any questions about what is needed most.
Things We Need
As well as the ongoing need for Clothing, Shoes, Toiletries, Baby Products, Blankets,
Towels, Bedding & Food, we are also collecting for the following appeals:
- Soldier Appeal:
Razors, Tinned/Packet Soups, Wet Wipes,, Thermal Underwear, Socks, Heat Pads. - Children Appeal:
Colouring Books, Pens, Crayons & Sweets. - Medical Appeal:
Bandages, Plasters, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Equipment, First Aid Kits. - On Yer Bike:
Any bicycle of any condition.
