On Saturday 3rd February 2024 the Chorley & District Support for Ukraine group opened the doors to the ‘Ukraine Unit’ donation centre for the 200th time. The occasion was acknowledged with a visit from Sir Lindsay Hoyle – MP for Chorley and Speaker of the House of Commons.Sir Lindsay addressed the Volunteers and expressed his gratitude for the selfless service and efforts of everyone from the group, in order to support the people of Ukraine. He added that he was proud of what was being down in Chorley and that he would continue his own efforts in Westminster to show solidarity with Ukraine. Following his visit, the Volunteers continued with another busy session of organising donations and by the end it another van load of supplies were palletised ready for sending out.
